THANK YOU to the City Of La Porte, TX Adoption Center & Animal Shelter for rescuing our two babies yesterday. My wife and I went to pick up our kids from school, and somehow they managed to pop our back door open! When we got home, we immediately noticed and went into panic mode. They have never got out before. They are really good dogs, and we were so worried. Thankfully our neighbor saw them and pointed us in the right direction. We drove all around the neighborhood, and no luck. We then got a call from La Porte Animal Shelter that one of their officers picked them up before they hit Spencer, and they were able to call us since they were microchipped. We were able to pick them up instantly. They were so sweet and helpful! We appreciate them so much and this is just a big reminder to always microchip your pets! You never know when something will happen, no matter how much you keep them inside or watch them. Things happen. Thank you City of La Porte! You all turned what could of been a terrible day into a great sense of relief and a great day for us.

My 10 year old desperately wanted a dog so I agreed on a medium size dog and for some reason he fell in love with a 65lb German Shepard so they gave is the option to "Foster" him first so we could take him home for 3 days to see how we all fit together, And Terry has been our dog ever since. He's definitely brought us closer to one another and we don't know what we ever did before without him... I love this place they were great in helping us find the right dog....

Clean, friendly, and knowledgeable. I wanted every animal there. Our guide read us perfectly and introduced the perfect pets. The play area was clean and safe. These animals seemed to be very happy but they need good homes.

They do a great job in making an absolutely horrible human condition somewhat tolerable for us. Yeah, it smells so maybe more airflow would help, but we selffish inconsiderate humans are the cause of there being too many pets in the world and the people at the clinic do the very best they can. So thanks. I am coming soon to adopt another little one to make my life and my pet's life better.

Absolutely amazing!! My go to shelter when i’m looking for a new addition to the family!! or if my kitty gives birth to kittens, i know this shelter i can always trust with them having the babies best interest at heart , keeping them safe at night, and fed in the mornings, and love throughout the day, everyday till they found a forever home i could never thank La Porte enough for that ❤️ They truly do care about the animals , Dog, Cat, Kitten, Puppy, EVEN WILDLIFE!! They will test all animals and send them to the vet if needed!! Mitch is absolutely awesome!! Tbh he helped give me the push i needed to bring home Zelda!! She’s the best part of my fur baby family ❤️ I was informed she was heartworm positive BUT WAS TREATED!! They will also inform you if you need any follow up care, for example i needed to have zelda take pills, get her on a preventative, and get her to a vet after 6 months, and possibly after that once a year for good measures. You do not need to live in the La Porte area to adopt here… If i’m not mistaken , they’ve had someone come from Dallas to get there forever baby!! Go get yours; no matter where you are!! This shelter is the perfect one ❤️❤️

I love it! Everyone is very friendly and the animals are so happy to be loved on. I stop to give them love because I can't take them home. The cats a purr machines and the dogs are heartwarming..
