We came in for an emergency visit after my small dog was attacked by a large dog. The front desk team quickly got vet techs out to get my dog and have her assessed. They allowed me a private space to speak with the vet about the situation. Clearly explained a care plan, pricing and options. Allowed me to see my pet before they began emergency surgery and assured me throughout her stay. The quick action, care and empathy they showed was incredible and although I hope nothing like this ever happens again to my pet we would gladly trust RBVH - Hillsborough and their team again.
After years of wondering why I never felt confident with the veterinarians I brought my beloved dogs to, I finally walked out of our new vet with a sense of relief I haven't had before. The final straw came, at my last vet, when I arrived with my sick dog in my arms. I was asked skepticallly if I had an appointment. With tears flowing, I said I decided it was more important to rush my unresponsive dog to the doctor than to call ahead. After a few minutes and no compassion, the vet saw my dog. They no longer examine your with owner present, since Covid. I do not see the benefit to my pet. Three hundred dollars later, I was told to take my now fully conscious dog to an emergency vet, because they didn't know what was wrong. Why was I charged an emergency fee to be evaluated in an emergency facility? After a lot of research, I went to Red Bank, and it was night and day immediately. They were warm, welcoming and immediately demonstrated their care. Dr. Turner and her assistant were incredibly thorough. They listened to my elderly dog's long history, not with impatience, but with genuine curiosity. Putting the pieces of the puzzle together of whether my dog had orthopedic, neurological, cardiac and/or other medical issues was confounding. She watched him walk for a while, tested his reflexes, observed his movements, all while she and her assistant soothed his nerves and his achey body. A practical and sound recommendation was made, and I walked out not minding the vet bill, because my dog and I were treated with intelligence, kindness and compassion. I have found my forever vet. I don't mind that it's 45 minutes away, instead of ten. I'd travel two hours to see Dr. Turner. Thank you for your professionalism and respect.
we had a slight emergency with our dog in the middle of the night so we had to take him to be seen. The staff and the doctor himself was very kind and patient, and they helped us from start to finish. When we were able to leave and take our dog home, we felt a lot better and knew that if we needed to, we could go back or call whenever necessary. The only reason for the four stars is because of the cost, as it is quite pricy, but honestly, that has nothing to do with the type of care that is given there, which has always been fantastic. When it comes to our fur babies, we will spend any amount necessary to make sure that they’re well.
Our 3 year old dog Moose needed luxating Patella surgery (MLP). After tons of research and a recommendation from my neighbor we decided to go with Dr. Nussbaum. Our initial visit was very informative and Dr. Nussbaum explained everything we were to experience in the coming months. She was thorough and obviously has a love for what she does. The day of surgery was very difficult for me to leave my fur baby. The staff was very understanding and I was able to call multiple times throughout the night and next morning to check on my dog. Most staff were empathetic and able to calm my nerves and give me an update. Vet Tech Amber was particularly wonderful on one of my calls and let me know how he was doing and that they were going to try and potty/feed him. After speaking with her I felt a sigh of relief my baby was being well cared for. The next day when we got the all clear to get Moose we met our angel vet tech Tracyann. Not only did she give excellent directions on post surgery care but she was so loving to my dog. She melted my heart with her kindness and love for my pup. Overall, I would say Dr. Nussbaum and staff went above and beyond the call of duty for my baby Moose. We look forward to our checkups and seeing everyone.
Staff at the front desk were great. The tech was wonderful. The dr did his job and seemed like he knew what he was doing. His personality could have been a little bit more friendly, but i was there for my dog not to make a friend. Price was more than i expected. Overall happy and would use their ER again…but i hopefully i won’t have to!
There's no easy way to say goodbye to your dog, but Red Bank made it the most comfortable experience for both our dog and us. We found out our dog, Parker, was severely anemic and took him to the ER. He was immediately taken into the back where they asked our permission to give him IV and fluids. Long story short, he would up have late stage cancer that spread all over and he deteriorated rapidly. Our oncologist, Dr. Tegtmeyer, was amazing. She laid out all of our options and let us spend time with him while we decided what to do. She then took all of us to a comfort room so that we could all say goodbye to him. There was no rush to make a decision and she came back to check on us constantly. We were treated with such compassion and empathy. There is no doubt that Red Bank did the best they can and we will absolutely be using them again in the future.
