Unfortunately, we lost one of our two yellow labs the day after Mother’s Day and our youngest lab was devastated. We decided to check out the animal shelter and the staff was amazing! They introduced us to Kiki (now Kai), a one year old black female lab. We brought Skeeter in to meet her and fell in love! She now has a forever home and Skeeter has a little sister he adores! Thank you so very much Joe, Walter, Andrea, Patty, Joann and Mr. Melchor! You’re all awesome and we truly appreciate you all!

Helping a neighbor find a new dog to share her home with we had reason to visit the Mesquite Animal Shelter. I dont recall the officers name but I think he was in charge. He was professional the shelter was absolutely clean and neat. It's not often I'm impressed enough to write a review. This shelter as well as the staff is exceptional.

We had made a 9:00 am appt. to meet Henry, a Boxer that had just been surrendered. After meeting and adoring Henry, we needed to perform a cat introduction to assure that he was OK with felines. Twenty minutes after we left to retrieve our cat, they called us and said we could do a foster to adopt so if there were problems, we could return Henry. I said that was great! We had breakfast and went to Walmart to get supplies for our new family member. We were back at the shelter within 3 hours of their call and were told that Henry had been adopted by someone else. What??? Very unprofessional and certainly a lack of communication! We didn't even receive a phone call asking if we were going to adopt him, they simply let him go to the first person who was willing to give them $60. Henry missed out on a fabulous life with us.....
