I am so thankful to the kind hearted people who work here. It has been almost a year since I adopted my baby from them. His name was Ranger but he is now named Milo! I had lost my sweet baby a week or two prior to seeing their Facebook post about “ranger”. Well I came by and got to meet him after waiting in line. It was a match made in heaven and they let me take him home that same day. They were so kind and supportive. I’m thankful they gave him the care he needed before I got to take him home! Please adopt and give donations! There are some amazing souls who work here! We will continue to watch their socials for things they need and maybe another fur baby for our family! 💜 attached our photos of Milo now! He is flourishing!

This is a complaint on the Coppell Animal Shelter and their selection process on “high-demand” animal. My partner went to the animal shelter 08/09 to adopt a pet that came available that same day. They were first in line and waited an hour before they even opened the facility. They were not selected by the animal shelter to adopt the animal. When asked about how they made their selection, I was not given a fair / well articulated explanation. I was advised It boiled down to who they thought was a best fit based on a 5 min interaction with the animal. I think this system is flawed and needs be reviewed thoroughly. Based on this information provided, it’s a subjective process that leaves the door open to discrimination. Please, evaluate the current processes, have a clear expectation on how these “high demand” animals will be adopted out. Response: I usually assign 1-2 staff members to oversee the adoption applications and meetings for the morning of a high interest adoption. That way, the same one or two staff members can meet with each candidate to be able to easily compare. As I mentioned, there wasn’t anyone who applied that morning that would have been a bad match. Some things that were considered were, current and past pet ownership, experience with the breed, vet reference if applicable, registration and vaccination status of any animals currently in the household, history in our system or with local animal control in city of residence, questions asked by the potential applicant, combined with how the dog acts and how comfortable it seems with the person/people. After gathering all the needed and available info, my kennel tech, Ed, decided on an adopter that he thought would provide the best environment for the puppy. Updating review from 1 to 3 for a sufficient response. Wish these expectations would be brought up by staff on site. Still think there is room for discrimination to be had based on the process detailed.

The front desk person who helped me in assisting me find my two big pups was very kind and helpful. She got my information to hold onto and was able to keep tabs on calls so the person who had them was able to communicate with me.

Very clean facility and extremely kind staff. They even stayed after hours so that our dog could meet and play with everyone to see if there would be a good fit! It was much appreciated and everyone was so helpful.

My wife and I had been searching for a year to find someone that would help us re-home several cats because we could no longer afford to keep. We found these guys who told us they would be happy to help us. They took 8 cats from us, after we made sure all were up to date on shots, and gave them money to spay two of the cats. We also told them that before any of them got put down to contact us and we would come pick them up. This was not the case! After several attempts by my wife to contact them, they finally responded with telling her that they put 5 of the cats down because they said they were sick and didn't have the resourses to make them better. They never attemted to contact us about any of this and our own vet said they were healthy enough for adoption. These guys violated our trust and flat out lied to us. They didn't even try to adopt them out, just killed them.

We had a snake on our playground full of kids and they came out Johnny on the spot and got it removed before anyone could get hurt!
