Thank u so much for the lady she worked there she’s very nice and very helpful the process was very quick and easy. I am so glad that I get a chance to get warm home for Harry and I am so happy that my cat he’s doing good with him. Thank you for hard work for the teamwork there you are the best God bless you all.

I adopted CT a pit mix breed early Saturday morning he is a very special dog and seems protective. He is well behaved and most time comes when called 😆. He stays inside when I leave and I have come home to no mess within 2 days which in my experience of shelter animals or any new animals. There's always a mess. I want to thank havelock animal shelter for their dedication to the animals.

The ladies who work here are the absolute best at what they do. We recently adopted a cat and a dog from here and it was the easiest process ever. I wish they had more funding, they deserve it, they need it. I wish nothing but the best for this place and the future animals that come.

I NEVER write reviews but my experience was so horrible I wanted leave a review. My husband and I found a small dog running around our home last week. We live in a small neighborhood and are well acquainted with our neighbors so we knew she didn’t belong to any of them. We took her to businesses near us and she didn’t belong to any of them. We took her to the vet to scan for a microchip and they didn’t find anything. I left a voicemail with Animal control and went and bought her some essential items (collar, leash, food, bowls, bed). We fell in love with her immediately! She was so well behaved and cuddly. I made flyers at work because she was too sweet to not belong to somebody. I got a call from animal control saying I needed to surrender the dog and if she was unclaimed for 72 hours we could adopt her legally. We said ‘No problem. I can’t bring her today but I can bring her by when I get off work tomorrow .’ At this point, she had been with us for 2 days and I was balling when I had to surrender her. That was on a Thursday. Come the next Tuesday, I called and asked what the status was and ask when we could adopt her. They now said it would be a MONTH before we could adopt her because her owner wasn’t coming forward. I was confused by the change in story but thought. Okay, I can wait a month. Now it’s Wednesday. My husband and I were so excited to adopt the dog that we told both of our family’s. I was talking to my dad and he asked about the dog. I told him about the change in story and he said ‘ let me make a call.’ My family happens to have a connection to the police department. So he calls his friend and they tell him that Havelock Animal Control has sent the dog to a local rescue because the person who surrendered her wasn’t interested in adopting her. Let me tell you. I am not the type to get mad but I was/am furious. I have screenshots of text messages that I sent to the animal control worker quoting that I am interested in adopting the dog. I have my call logs that show at least 5 times I called the animal control shelter to check on the dog. I sent all of the screen shots that I had of messages to the friend. Now it’s Friday and I’ve just found out that the dog has already been adopted. So Havelock Animal Control.You’re really the worst and that’s not saying enough.
