Friendly staff and fair pricing. I would have given 5 stars if it were not for the waiting area conditions. Some owners came in with not all dogs leashed. They also should really have a more accommodating waiting section for the disabled (like myself) and designate one side to cats and the other to dogs. This would help reduce stress for those with cats in carriers not being bombarded or surrounded by curious dogs trying to inspect the carriers. There needs to be more organization and sanitation in the waiting area, for that matter. I felt closed in due to limited seating options for someone requiring armless chairs. I was surrounded by people practically right on top of myself and my 2 cat carriers. They sneezed and coughed, without covering their mouths. And let a few of their smaller dogs run around off leash. The staff did nothing to maintain order. I hope to God they are sanitizing all the chairs in the waiting areas daily, but I highly doubt it. It was very stressful being in that environment.

This is an awesome place to go If you are low on funds or low income budgeted. They have great prices it's half the price that it is at a Vet in your Hometown. Basically, the prices are all cut in half so that people that are low income or don't have thousands of dollars, but love their animal and locked them to get well can still get them treatment. For example, it's only $68 to fix a female cat and they give it a free rabbi Shot and pain medicine. So that should tell you right there. Because that's usually $180 anywhere else. I think they're so kind and they're very thorough. And they don't do anything without giving you a price first This place is definitely worth driving too! When I can't afford my regular vet this is where I go. I found a stray cat and they made her better in no time. And I thought I would be paying hundreds of dollars and I didn't have to do that. And the cat is wonderful today.

They took wonderful care of our cat Grace during her surgery. They made sure she was comfortable, and that we had all the info we needed.

We got our sweet little kitty at the Cat House and I highly recommend them! She was already vaccinated & spayed when we got her and they provided us with the food she was on so we could gradually switch her to our food. It was so clean in the building as well!! Provided a picture of our sweet girl too 🥹

I’m not trying to write a scathing review and I truly believe HFA is reputable and do their best- but this is something people should be more aware of. If you have the money get your animal spay/neutered at a primary vet office. Not doing this cost me $2k in ER vet bills and had (maybe still has) the potential to have lost my friend forever. Also- I think they tattooed my dog’s stomach blue to mark that she had been spay. I totally get this for a stray- but no one asked us or gave us the option for them to put a blue splotch on her tummy. During my experience I spoke with a friend who said something I had never even really considered: “Help for animals is a low cost spay and neuter clinic that is very high volume. It should really only be used for spay and neuter for people who are low income, but it gets abused because people just want cheap vet care. This means they get inundated with very sick animals and dont have the time or resources to diligently reduce spread of contagious viruses between patient care.” We had our dog spay at HFA on Monday. Her pickup was delayed by several hours as they said they were behind. She came home and wouldn’t eat the first day. we just thought it was maybe the surgery and meds. She couldn’t keep food down the rest of the week. We ended up having to take her to an ER because she pooped blood at around midnight. We were worried for parvo but it turned out to be some other type of unknown infection. She is still in poor shape and it is still unknown what the infection is. If you have the money please consider not taking up resources at a low cost service like HFA.

Very knowledgeable & concerned with both patient, as well as pet parent's concerns. We had 2 pups fixed, and 1 seemed to not recover well from anesthesia. I called & they were quick to get her in to see the doctor. She's all better now! Help for animals is a God send, for those in need of low cost veterinary care.
