Description The Frances Halbrook Hensley Animal Shelter is a 501 (c) 3 No Kill communitiy supported shelter located in Lexington, Tennessee. Established in 2016, this Shelter was the vision and legacy of the late Frances H. Hensley who was an avid animal lover. Mrs. Frances' love for animals didn't stop with her two little dogs. She thought of all abandoned and abused dogs and cats. She left her estate to build the animal shelter.

Giving 2 stars, because my review is more of a question. I have heard good things about this shelter, and was wondering… When can i bring in two lab dogs? 1 is female, and 1 male that are siblings, they came to my house hungry with no collars on, and unfortunately i can not keep them. They look about a year old. Needing to get them gone by this week if possible. We just want them to have a good home where they can play with each other, and other dogs. Also, does it cost to bring dogs to the shelter?

We have adopted a dog and a cat from this place. The staff took good care of them before they came to live with us. We would recommend this place to everyone 😀 😊 👍!!!

Had a dog dropped off at our house and we tried to keep him. My wife is pregnant and he almost knocks her down every day. Took him up here and the guy said they were full and recommended we drop him off somewhere. What a joke this place is. I get it’s full but what a wild recommendation to drop it off somewhere else to starve. Doesn’t even deserve one star

I commend the people that devote their own personal time and effort into this place for the homeless dogs and cats!!! Sadly, I didn't get to take pictures, but I donated to the cause. These wonderful animals are in desperate need of a loving home. ❤️

We adopted Luna from here. The folks are very caring and loving toward the animals. They were spot on about Luna's personality!

Our family adopted our Lily here some months ago. She has been a sweet and funny addition to our family. We had a wonderful experience with everyone here and would recommend this shelter to anyone wanting to adopt a new family friend.
