Description Our mission is to rescue and care for animals in need; Our one and only goal is finding the right home for each and every one of them. While we find great placements, we work on educating the public on why we do what we do, and how they can help us reach a lower homeless pet population. . In doing so, we are able to maximize our impact, and focus on local and nationally- in need animals. We are a registered non-profit organization, and no-kill shelter/rescue.

Had a great experience with the folks at AWF, we adopted Davis and he has been a dream, well mannered, potty trained within a week and most importantly gets along with our little Chihuahua.

Just adopted a dog today at the shelter, his name is Papacito. The staff were wonderful and very helpful, and the overall experience was amazing! It took less than 10 minutes for the whole process from walking in to walking out with our new pup! Highly recommend adopting from these guys as they are a very friendly place! Thanks guys for making the adoption process quick and easy!

We adopted our girl Gracie, formerly Hippy, in August. It was a great experience and everyone at Animal Welfare Friends was so helpful and friendly! Thanks for saving our girl and her littermates from a kill shelter in North Carolina. She is healthy and thriving! The folder you sent home with all of her paperwork and helpful adoption information was fabulous! Thanks for allowing us to have Gracie!

I'm fairly disappointed. I made an fb post about rehoming my dog. Shelter commented about covering her shots and surgery. Told me to email, I did twice, they ignored it. I called and left a message, they never responded. The new family sent messages, and they responded to that? According to the new family, they ended up bypassing this place. If you didn't want to help, don't offer it. If you tell someone to email, reply. Idk if you thought I was trying to scam you, but I drove 6 hours that day to make sure this dog went to a good home. I received no help that they offered and have yet to receive a call back to a response to my emails. The dog is happy and taken care of.

Adoptions go so well and they choose the best dogs for you I'm so happy with mine they are perfact for me! They teach you about what to expect and even told me how to make treats for them! The only down side is they claimed mine was cat friendly and is very much not.

We were going to adopt one of Animal Welfare Friends dogs from out of state. Unfortunately, we could not go through with the adoption, but the staff, particularly Micky, was so incredibly helpful throughout the process. She answered all our questions and sent plenty of photos and videos to us along the way. I can confidently say that the animals here are in the good hands of a very caring staff. If anyone, local or out of state, are considering adopting from Animal Welfare Friends, know that the staff are going to take care of you and the animals. Can't recommend them enough!
