I went in today because my dog injured her leg. Dr. Smith and staff were great! Friendly, calm, efficient, and thorough. Although it did take a while to be seen, the staff were very good at giving me updates and explaining/setting the expectation that it would take some time because of the amount of patients, very solid customer service skills. I thought Dr. Smith was very thorough and efficient with her time, gave us options, explained, and gave us her recommendation without rushing me to give an answer. Very different than experiences at my previous clinic. 10 out of 10, would recommend!
I had to rush my 9 week old puppy in this morning because she was limp and unresponsive. I was helped out right away and they were able to answer all my questions! As soon as I got back to a room, they came in right away to speak with me and gave were able to see what was wrong with her very quickly. They also gave me lots of tips and well needed information on home care. If I were ever to have another emergency with my animals I will bring them here. Very friendly and understanding people I appreciated all of their help especially on a holiday like today!!!
Considering the circumstances, I thought they did very well. My dog barely made it to them, but even I knew she was too far gone by the time they saw her. They immediately transferred her with a gourney as she wasn't able to walk, and went to work. Sadly she ended up passing pretty quickly as she was bleeding out internally from blood cancer tumor rupture. They were very kind to us, and handled the situation in a great and respectful way. For a 24/7 emergency vet I was very impressed.
They start taking walk ins at 1pm, they took my info and let me know that there was a line and that it could be up to two hours to be seen. They pushed my time back again and again. At 4:30, when I went to inquire how much longer they told me not until 6 pm. At that point I told them to remove me from the list and that I would not be returning. I can appreciate that it is a hospital for pets, but at least be up front and honest about time frames. Don’t tell people that they will be seen and just continue to leave them waiting.
Dr Meeks was great! He is very knowledgeable and answered all questions that I had. The veterinary staff was so nice, and kept me updated on my dogs progress throughout the visit. I brought my dog Benji in with vomiting from a possible bowl obstruction. We did X-rays, blood work, after investigation bowl obstruction was ruled out, gave fluids and some meds. Keep in mind this is an emergency vet you will experience longer waiting times if more emergent patients come in after you. It will be expensive depending on what you need done, but you will have a good experience and know that your pets are in good hands.
We took our cat to this vet after he had been in a cat fight. The initial diagnosis they gave us was that the cat was very sick and it would be best to euthanize him. That option was not even a consideration for us. Then they decided to hospitalize him to administer IVs and antibiotics through the IV. They had listed many unnecessary procedures to be performed on him that were not even related to his sickness or injury. We declined some of these items, but the bill was still skyrocketing. Since we had no choice because it was after hours, we admitted him. He ended up staying there for three days without having a physical examination or even being touched to see if they could feel anything under his skin. At this point, our cat was very defenseless and sick, and they labeled him as being aggressive towards them (I mean, he is sick, and who likes doctors or someone touching them?). Three days in, he had received no shots and no physical exam, so we had to get him out of there because each day was costing close to $950. They kept telling us he was nauseated, which is why he was drooling (they even said he might have rabies). What? So we took our cat to a reputable vet in town today. They diagnosed him with swollen lymph nodes, which were the cause of his inability to swallow, drooling, and not eating. Our bill at the new vet was 85% less. He received a steroid injection, antibiotic injection, and fluid injection, which took less than 20 minutes. Note: During our stay at Taylor Vet, we encountered two other pet owners who were also experiencing nonsense from the doctors there, who kept ramping up their vet bills to $5k. We also advised them to go to a different clinic. Needless to say, besides their lack of knowledge, the wait time is more than 5 hours, even if they tell you it's a 1-hour wait. The only pleasant person we encountered was the receptionist, Tessa. Other than that, I would give them zero stars if I could. $2500 down the drain, with no results. If I do get any response to this review from the owner, that would be because they don't want to ruin their reputation and usually respond once again with nonsense. Show love, go somewhere else! This place will kill your family member as well as hurt your pocket. They might be useful for horses and cows :)
