So, the owner is a very sweet lady. Otherwise, I was not very pleased with my recent adoption. The kitten we adopted is great. Sweet fun loving boy. He was very skinny when we got him though. That and he didn't see a vet until 13 weeks of age (when rescued at 3 weeks old) and no real answer as to why was given. Only 1 vaccination was given (not including rabies, that was done as it's required) and when questioned as to why the series of boosters were not given at reccomended ages, I was told that they waited until all of the kittens they had in their care could get their shots until bringing them to the vet...They also stated the vet said since he got his at 14 weeks he was UTD and good to go. I called the vet they were referring to and they said that they weren't sure as to why that was told to me and he would at least need 1 more booster... possibly 2. They also told me he should have received another booster prior to being adopted out to me as now the time between shots is longer than supposed to be. I was not given any paperwork regarding any at home/in rescue treatments done- deworming flea treatment etc, which I was informed by the vet office that I should have been given that info. It was noted at his first vet visit at 13 weeks that he had fleas, but I am not sure what was done about them since no other documents were provided. He was given a deworming medication at this visit as well. But again, this was at 13 weeks so I don't know if any deworming treatments were done prior to this (but haven taking in the kittens at 3 weeks, I expected there to be some completed) just feel like more care should be provided and after speaking with the vet the rescue took the kittens to they agreed that it was strange the kittens weren't seen prior and they were unsure why. He will be getting a physical and shots taken care of next week. I will give thanks to the rescue as when I adopted him they said if he needed anything to let them know and if his booster wasn't done they would pay for it, but I am not taking them up on the offer. Just wanted to note that they did say that though for transparency. Just ask more questions than I did if adopting through them, make sure you know the health history and all.

I was floored by the amount of compassion one of their volunteers exhibited. She rescued 7 feral cats in our neighborhood and stayed in her car for hours waiting for the cats to be humanely trapped. What an expression of love and selflessness.
