Probably about 10 Cats were abandoned a couple houses down from where I live. The owners moved off and left them. I called about these cats and was told I need to catch them and take them to be fixed bring them back and release them. That I need to furnish them food and a safe dry place out of the weather. Another words claim them and give them a home. I do not have pets and do not want pets. I do not want to take in someone else's 10 cats that were abandoned. I am allergic to cats and these cats are using my yard and flower beds as a litter box and has it stinking so bad you can't stand to go around my carport. They are staying on my car and scratching it and leaving paw prints all over it. They get in every ones trash and scatter it every where. And the solution to the problem was for me to take them in and provide for them. This will not happen. There's a lot of people that have and want pets, that is wonderful for them. But not everyone wants pets. Thank you Bossier Animal Control for your help with this situation.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. I got my dog from them back in December and they offered to fix her for free. I went to pick her up today from getting fixed and when I carried her out to the car I had blood all over me because she had ripped open her staples. I understand that can happen but the fact they didn't check her before sending her home. On top of that they didn't even do anything to help me with it told me to take her to the vet, which would have cost money when they were the ones who did they should be the ones to fix it. When I finally got her home and semi settled she drank 2 bowl fulls of water she is not a big dog only 23lbs and has never drank that much since I've had her. What they did was after her procedure they locked her in a room by herself. For a place that is supposed to care about animals, doesn't seem like care at all. You can get your animals from anywhere but I would not go here unless you want your animal to mistreated.

I volunteer here and all the animals are clean and healthy with food and water they have toys and lots of space, the shelter is only made for cats and dogs so they don't have the environment and right food for them to care for the animal. They all try their best with low staff and always greet people with kindness.

I went in today to report someone who mistreated their dogs in front of me, he was even pulling the one dog out of my car by its tail while it was whining trying to get away from him. He told the dogs theyd never see the light of day again. These 2 dogs are running loose every other day and they are so skinny you can see the brown/black ones ribs and the tan lab you can see its spine and ribs. According to the very rude man and female at the front desk told me you're supposed to be able to SEE dogs ribs....when I know you are not. You are supposed to be able to feel them but not see them. My mother worked for animal control for 15 yrs in WV and also worked for a Vet and i know dogs are not supposed to be that skinny. They didnt seem to care about the 2 reports I've made they were EXTREMELY rude to me when I was in there today. I asked if I was supposed to sign the witness report because it had 2 different signature lines and the lady was like this one...because you're not an officer in a very rude and snarky voice. And I stead of explaining how the process works when you make a report or anything, after finishing the paper and standing there waiting for them to say something like what the next step was the man was like "do you need something else" but in a very rude tone and I was like I guess not, you're probably going to throw it out when I leave anyways(because apparently when a worker looked for my initial report the other day it was nowhere to be found) and hes like how, it's right here holding the paper up with two fingers waving it around. Honestly they conducted themselves in a very unprofessional and down right disrespectful manner. I feel sorry for any dog they are supposed to help because it's clear they only care about collecting a check.

The lady was real kind and took the abandon pup without any problems. Hoping it gets a great adoption.

Such TERRIBLE service. I found a sick raccoon in our yard, it was walking in circles and tumbling and walking around confused. We suspected it had rabies but it wasn’t foaming at the mouth or seizing but the poor thing was suffering. We called animal control and they said they would send somebody there, they never did. We called the police and they just said to call animal control. Then when we went to the facility, they said they do not deal with rabid animals. This is disappointing. We called wildlife rehab too and they didn’t accept either. Thank god he didn’t do anything that could harm us, but imagine if it was a more dangerous animal that could potentially hurt people and y’all won’t do yalls service? You guys need to do better. RIP raccoon 🦝 💔🕊️
