Description At Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Matthews, our experienced, compassionate veterinarians and board-certified specialists are an extension of your primary care veterinarian. We work together to provide the quality specialty and emergency veterinary care for pets in North Carolina. We are a Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) Certified Level II Facility, a 24-hour acute emergency and critical care facility with the medical staff, personnel and training necessary to provide emergent and critical patient care. Each of our specialists has completed at least three years of additional training beyond veterinary school and has passed rigorous examinations to become board-certified in their areas of specialization.

Dr. Mauler and her team couldn’t have been any more amazing with our sweet Frank. We’re so thankful we found her and this office. If we didn’t live 3 hours away, this would be our regular vet no doubt. Our dog was suffering from a disc issue and his walking abilities changed overnight. We traveled to see Dr. Mauler and felt she and her team were very kind, thorough, transparent, and informative. Frank was having a ball making friends even though he was there for surgery. Communication throughout the entire process was great, and he’s back home and doing well now, anxiously waiting to get out and go on more adventures in a couple of months. Thank you for everything!

Dr. Claudia McFadden and her team are the most amazing group. Dealing with cancer in the family is so difficult but they made dealing with treatment easy. Spanky never hesitated going with them for his chemo. He was treated with love and compassion. Even when I was out of town they picked up Spanks from boarding so he wouldn't miss a dose. We lost him, and I wasn't the only one crying. I feel I had him a little longer thanks to their care. She tried everything to save him and I am so grateful. I can't recommend them enough!!

If there were 10 stars to give, it wouldn't be enough. A host of brilliant doctors. Compassionate. Approachable! Helpful. Thorough. Clean! Knowledgeable and caring. The facility is extremely nice, well equipped, with a coffee and tea bar for your waiting comfort. Dr Deller at Long Animal Clinic recommended this place when our dog was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. Great advice from a terrific vet! I thank GOD for this place. We have yet to have a doctor who is not superior!

Great team. Today she got her staples removed. We really enjoy how they worked with us. Our cali girl is happy and health. She might have 3 legs but she will be the fastest three leg dog in union county.

Brought in a puppy from a rescue who has pneumonia because we have an account with them. They got all hung up on giving us our discount amount off of the deposit. Since we are a rescue every penny counts to us. We pay our bills and have relationships with these drs so we can get treatment for the furry babies without having to stress. We shouldn’t have to sit and fret over a couple hundred dollars. They are going to get all their money in a few days regardless. Corporate needs to pay attention to the people as well as the babies. It is not ALWAYS about the almighty dollar today. You have us by the hairs because the babies are sick. I don’t think you should gouge people and nitpick in a time of distress. I understand getting a deposit but for someone with a working good relationship be realistic 😳

Specialists is the best word to describe CVS. After our pup received extensive emergency surgery for a ruptured mass, behind his liver, the surgeon diligently explained the complete procedure and kept us thoroughly informed day and night on his condition. He made a miraculous recovery, and while we hope we never have to go back, we would not hesitate should the need arise.
