These people are very helpful and affordable. Many people volunteer their time to HELP animals in order to prevent shelters from becoming overcrowded. They can be slow at times, BUT the bigger picture far outweighs the wait. Stay diligent on calling, and they will keep you informed when openings are available. They are an asset to the community. I'm truly grateful for all they do. OWNERS take notes because its not their responsibility to find you... do YOUR part, and they will be there to help.

Such a wonderful group of caring individuals! They took great care of our little guy who was in for his neuter. From dropping him off to picking him up, it was all done perfectly. We are very lucky to have them in Haywood County.

HAWA has been around a long time and has done a lot of good in that time. They offer low-cost spay and neuter services, as well as microchipping, vaccines, and affordable flea and worm medications. With one long-ago exception (not relevant to this review), all my interactions with them have been good.

The first time I used HAWA, my Beagle was spayed through them. It is a wonderful program . We had to drop her off between 7-8 a.m. We picked her up the next morning at 11:30-12. They explained to me all what they did and they gave her a nail trim. We didn't have a kennel to put her in so they rented one for $5.00. They also sell flea and tick meds and worm medicine. Volunteers help with getting your pet loaded and unloaded. The only thing when we picked up our dog was that she was very thirsty.
