Dr. Thalhofer and the surgery team saved Luke's life! The entire staff was professional and compassionate from the moment we walked into the building, until we took Luke home a couple days later. All signs pointed to spreading Cancer. We left Friday evening believing we had limited time. Dr. Thalhofer found rare cases that had similarities with Luke's condition. She called that evening to tell us that it was worth going in to look further. I was hesitant. If Luke was only going to have a couple weeks left, I was afraid those weeks would be spent healing from wounds. The team ran a lot of tests to make sure there weren't any showstoppers, justifying the surgery. The surgeons went in that Saturday evening. They removed the bad parts, and they sent them out for biopsies. Luke did so well, he was ready to come home Sunday. We waited until Monday evening to pick him up. When I saw Luke, he looked 10x better than he looked before the surgery -- after two days! He's been great since. We just received the final biopsy, and Luke has a clean bill of health. Without Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital, Luke might not be here by now. The ultrasound gave the image of spreading Cancer. Dr. Thalhofer went the extra mile to find a one in a million case.

My husband and I brought our sweet companion in to be euthanized as he was suffering greatly due to stomach cancer. It was an incredibly devastating time for both of us and we were inconsolable. Everyone at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital was so professional and compassionate. That meant so much to us in our time of grief and we thank you. I often lose faith in humanity. This was one of those times it was restored.
Today was one of the worst days of my life as I had to euthanize my best friend, Bagels. My companion of 10 years. I’m writing this review to rave about my experience at Metro despite this being an incredibly awful day. They were empathetic, got us in quickly, allowed us time with him, and explained the process thoroughly. Prior to deciding euthanasia the veterinarian gave us direct information on the prognosis and we felt educated to make the right decision. It wasn’t in our boys best decision to do surgery and we appreciate that the veterinarian supported that. Often times vets persuade you to make money but this was not the case. Thank you for making this process easier. Highly recommend.
Just great its FRIDAY OCT 13 😲😬 - and my awesome rescue buddy is feeling really yucky. After numerous throw ups during the day , it’s now approaching evening and she just wouldn’t eat ( even treats). I decided I had better take her to the only open vet and in addition the ONLY vet who would see her after trying unsuccessfully during the day . When we arrived we were met by such a helpful caring team. Within minutes we sat down waiting for our turn to see the doctor. Again within minutes, Andy was taken to a room and I was taken into another room with Dr Baltic who listened attentively, writing down all my concerns, and suggesting what tests she would do , with my permission, and would call me as soon as her results were ready. Yes, the wait seemed to take forever , the waiting room was packed with owners still waiting their turn to go back, however upon arrival everyone was told it would be a good 2 1/2 to 3 hr wait. Dr. Baltic called me saying Andy's diagnostics were back , Blood work looked good on the x-rays and no obvious causes of the vomiting and she does have a hip disease or arthritis so I was just wanted to talk to you about if you thought that Andy was ever painful and wanted something for arthritis or if we just wanted to treat the skin. Wow , unreal, I previously had taken her to 3 vets re. her limping - all stating maybe she had laid wrong , perhaps jumped , always hearing everything feels fine and on & on with not one of the 3 suggesting maybe take an X-ray. I simply can’t express my complete appreciation and thankfulness for Dr. Baltic . Also, their team of just the kindest ,understanding, and friendly staff . The gals pictured are Hannah and Jill, who so pleasantly 😊fielded the many “How soon “ we’ve been here forever “ 😠questions. Clark, a mini labradoodle also pictured and my best buddy , Andy , ready to go home .
I cannot thank Metro Vet in Akron enough! They saved my dogs life! Dr. Brown and the whole team were so supportive and kind during such a scary time for my family! Thank you so much! And Rocky sends kisses!
