You hear how dogs hate going to the vet. All of our pups are happy to walk through the doors at Buck Lake Animal Hospital. Sure no pup likes getting shots, but it is easy when you have a may of treats to lick! Everyone here loves what they do and it shows. Great service from great people!
Our tortoise -shell adoptee has been sick. Our pets have ways and will to go and be where they ain't s'posed to. Our Tasha Tudor, named long ago by friends Jane Robinson, Alexis Huntley and her mom, Barbara is feeling better
Gracie has been to so many vets with Urinary issues and they never seemed to get to the root of her problem. Dr. Anderson showed tremendous passion and care for Gracie and healed her. We now know what we need to do to prevent this from happening. The communication and customer service from all of the staff is excellent! We are very happy with Buck Lake.
Update 4/1/24: This place is either incompetent or ignorant. This vet ignored that our 14yr old puppy had pancreatitis for over a year. They told us she had kidney disease, had a us switch food (prescription strength), get on all kinds of meds for the CONSTANT diarrhea and all the while she never had kidney disease, she had SEVERE pancreatitis. They completely ignored her blood work even though back on 1/31/2023 (yes, over a year ago) her values were 5000 over what they should have been. Yes, 5000 over. Over the last year, we KNEW something was wrong and we tried talking to them about it and every time they acted like WE were the crazy ones and that we were making things up. The front desk even hinted to me that the vet didn’t like me because I asked too many questions. And every time they pushed us off with different medications to buy. They never took us seriously despite that she wasn’t eating anymore, lost 6 pounds in 3 months, and had bloody diarrhea for 3 ½ months. When she got so weak that she couldn’t move anymore, and we had to take her to the ER (Allied) where they basically told us that it was time to talk about putting her down because her body was shutting itself down. Allied called and called ALL afternoon asking for her records and Buck Lake wouldn’t send them over. Which wasn’t a surprise considering we also had called asking for her records and they wouldn’t give them to us. They just kept telling us “Someone will call you to discuss” and yet the phone call never came… come to find out it was most likely because they were lying to us OR we were going to find out that they never told us about the pancreas issues. After 24 hours at the ER and then moving to our new vet, we have discovered she NEVER had kidney disease, but that her pancreas was working so hard to keep function that it was putting stress on the kidneys. And she was in so much pain that she didn't want to eat or move anymore. They changed her food to gastrointestinal food and gave her nausea and acid reflux medicine and in a week she back to old happy self and absolutely NO diarrhea since. It would have been one thing to admit they made a mistake as obviously they can only treat symptoms since animals can’t talk. That would have been completely understandable... But they couldn’t even do that. They just doubled down. And what was most infuriating is that they acted like we were the crazy ones. They gaslit us for MONTHS all while happily continuing to prescribe every medication under the sun that did nothing but make everything worse. It is unfortunate that our dog had to almost die for us to discover the truth (that we were not crazy and they were incompetent) but we will not be going back to place ever again. And the sad thing is that now they have a great new cat vet (Dr. Fetner) who was absolutely amazing but we won’t be using him anymore as don’t trust the facility at this point. TL;DR - They do not have the skills or pride to admit when they are in the wrong and it almost cost our dog and thousands of dollars. 10/26/2021 Staff is amazing. They are super attentive and super willing to help in any way.
Smart pleasant Vets. Very friendly staff. Cats still not thrilled. 🙃
This place is great. If this is your primary vet you will never miss an appointment. They send you helpful reminders through text, email, mail, and sometimes even call you. When my pup was sick they squeezed him the same day I called. You can tell they really care and love your animals as much as their own.
