Description Our hospital mission is to care for our patients with the highest quality medical and surgical care available. Our doctors, technicians, and assistants are trained to care for your pets’ individualized needs. Each member of our dental hygiene team attends specialized continuing education to learn about the latest technology and techniques in veterinary dentistry. Many of our doctors have completed extra training in ultrasound, radiology, soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, and exotic pet care. Our veterinary technicians and other staff members also attend regular continuing education seminars to make certain your pets are receiving the most advanced and compassionate medical care available.

The staff here is incredibly. They really go above and beyond, showing genuine love for our furry family members. Highly recommend. Chuck even says he’s not a huge fan of the going to the vet but he tolerates this place the most.

The Animal Hospital at Southwood is the absolute best. The most amazing and compassionate staff (receptionists, vet techs, and veterinarians). My 2 dogs see Dr. Smith and my cat sees Dr. Brown and I am always so happy to talk to them at our appointments because they are so sweet and informative. You can tell they truly care about your babies. But, the awesomeness of this place doesn’t stop with the veterinarian services- they have an amazing pet resort too! I’m always comforted leaving my babies here because I know they will be taken care. We get pictures of them during play time and they come home all smiles with a little report card! Unfortunately, my family is moving to Texas and the saddest part about our move is that we won’t be a part of the Southwood family anymore and will have to find a new clinic, which will be hard as Southwood has set the standard very high! If you’re looking for a new vet, please stop right now and call Southwood! You will not be disappointed by these amazing people.

I am not happy with the service at Southwood Animal Hospital & Pet Resort. My dog stayed at the pet resort for 7 nights and was charged for 8. My dog was also given unauthorized canned dog food. I brought my own Wellness Core dog food since he has sensitive stomach issues. He also smelled when I pick him up and should have received a complimentary bath that was included.

I reviewed the Animal Hospital and Pet Resort many years ago under my maiden name (when we first brought our dog here), and I wanted to update and reinforce how awesome the vet and resort people are. They have always given our dog the best care. They rock!

After bringing in my chihuahua puppy for a tick bite, following an appointment at 4:30pm as advised by the office, I experienced a disheartening encounter. The vet briefly examined the tick bite, prescribed flea and tick prevention, and the entire process felt rushed. Despite paying my $120 bill, I later faced persistent calls from the office staff questioning whether I had taken home a whole box of prevention instead of the single dose I was charged for. The accusatory tone and assumption that I had "stolen" the items were off-putting. I had received the boxes, paid accordingly, and now find myself addressing their errors. Despite this frustrating experience, I plan to pay my bill, emphasizing that customer care should outweigh a mere $100 discrepancy. Regrettably, this ordeal has led me to seek alternative veterinary services, and I'll share my story with those in search of a reliable vet.

Such a great place for your dogs. Every time we take our dogs here they are excited to go. They also include a bath, dog cologne, and nail trim if you stay over a certain amount of days. This was our dogs' 3rd time staying and it was for 10 days. They send you the best pictures of the dogs too! For added convenience the doctor saw them for their annual check up during their stay!
