Description Last Hope Animal Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer run organization committed to saving the lives of animals in need. Our animals live in foster homes while we work to cover their medical needs and find the perfect forever homes for them. Our adoption center at 1823 16th Ave SW serves as a central hub for our volunteers and does not keep open hours to the public. If you wish to meet adoptable animals, please contact us through our website! You may also leave a message for us by telephone, and one of our volunteers will return this at our earliest convenience. To connect with us directly, please visit our website or find us on Facebook to see a schedule of upcoming adoption events and view our currently available animals.

I have adopted two cats from this shelter. Both cats were well loved and cared for at the shelter. While at the shelter I saw some cats with very high medical needs, which shows me this shelter cares deeply for their cats (and other animals) and does everything in their power to give them a great quality of life, when others likely would have given up. This shelter not only does an amazing job caring for their animals, but also has great customer service. They do a fantastic job interviewing people wanting to adopt, and checking references to ensure the pets are going to a stable home. One of the adoption team leads has reached out to me checking to see how the transition of the cats was going, and is always answering emails when I have questions. As a first time cat owner, I felt like their team set me up for success with both adoptions, and I feel I could reach out to them with questions or concerns and get an honest, judgement free answer. I definitely would adopt from this shelter again, cannot recommend highly enough.
Love the caring staff and volunteers. You can tell they love every animal brought in for their attention. Here Athena "our" foster dog needing a forever home. Last Hope goes above and beyond working with us to provide Athena with a beneficial transition to her new family.
I was expressing my concern over a dog that I was trying to adopt going from a shelter to a foster, when we were willing to give him a forever home. This was at a different place. We stopped here to look, and the Dog i had wanted showed up here. When I expressed my concern, the woman became very snide. When I was leaving I told her to shut up because she wouldn't stop belittling me saying I only wanted a free dog. She actually followed me to my car. Worst I've ever been treated anywhere. Period.
Terrible place, they ask a lot more information than should be asked to adopt a pet. Also, I was basically ghosted by them after back and forth emails with someone named Crystal from the “adoption team.” If you want to waste your time and not end up with a pet then this is the place.
I adopted my special needs kitten, Wilbur, from Last Hope in March. He's now eight months old. Their foster volunteers do a great job socializing kittens -- from the get-go, Wilbur has been incredibly friendly and outgoing both with humans and other cats alike. He had all his veterinary needs taken care of as well, as he was already fully vaccinated, dewormed, and neutered when we brought him home. To those concerned about the fee, $80 is a very fair price to pay for an animal that is healthy, happy, well-behaved and well-cared for. Last Hope does the best job of making sure their pets are ready for forever homes of any shelter I've ever encountered.
Th best place to relax your mind. You can adopt kitty, doggy or bunny here. The officer was extremely kind.
