I have been using Doctor Dorn and his staff for ten years now with two different dogs. My daughter travels with her two dogs as do I to see him. His son, JD is fantastic, his Vet Techs and the other female Doctor there are the kindest and smartest and most caring Vets I have ever seen. He doesn’t overcharge and he always knows the right thing to do. His Practice is worth the drive and he is the best Vet in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Dorn was great. We have an amazon parrot with injured leg. He took great care of Max. Staff was great as well.

With the increase in demand for vet services the quality of care has greatly decreased. We have now gone through the process of cancer and eventual euthanasia with two dogs under their care. Both times this clinic has treated the symptoms only despite my essential begging that something was wrong. Two weeks ago I begged to make an appt for my one dog and was told by the vet tech that it would be a waste of my time - those were her exact words. And they told me that my dog was having diarrhea from the stress of having a new baby - I was still in the hospital at the time and I knew my dog and that wasn’t it. They prescribed anti-diarrheal medication instead that didn’t work. We took him to PVSEC and he ended up having lymphoma and a host of other issues and passed that day. I’m not sure if she was speaking on behalf of Dr Dorn or providing her own opinions, but we had similar issues with our first dog that had cancer. Insisted on treating only the symptoms and not looking at the whole animal and the owners knowledge of the pet. Will not be returning. Edited to include a reply to Dr Dorn: Thank you for your sympathy. Unfortunately, it was not an issue of not being able to get an appt in a timely manner. I felt that I was dismissed by the vet tech which is unfortunate because I’ve had some very positive experiences with staff there in the past. Upon my questioning, she informed me on timing and cost of an emergency visit, but continued on to state it would be a waste of my time. Had I not been in the hospital myself, I would have been more persistent in scheduling an appointment. If you were booked up, she did not offer to refer me. In fact she gave me no reason as to why she recommended I didn’t schedule beyond that ‘it would be a waste.’ Louie’s diarrhea was something we had been trying to solve over the phone several times. (I tried a bland diet which didn’t work. I also brought in a fecal sample which was negative). I didn’t want to try a third solution without Louie being seen in person. I knew it was more serious considering how long he had his GI symptoms. I completely understand needing to rule things out first, but I felt we were beyond this stage and still we weren’t even being offered an appt - in fact, we were being actively encouraged against it. That is correct Louie had not been in for nearly a year - he was due for his yearly a few weeks after he passed. I understand it can be difficult to diagnose/tx remotely which is another reason I should have insisted more.

We’ve been with Dr. Dorn and his staff for years. He managed my family dog’s heart condition and extended his life exponentially. Now he takes great care of our lab.

I can't say enough good things about this vet clinic. We have now taken 3 ferrets to see Dr. Dorn over the years with several illnesses that other vets were unable to assist with. Dr. Dorn is very knowledgeable and truly cares about his clients. I trust him completely with my pets and know he has their best interest in mind. The staff is very friendly, understanding, and accommodating as well. Highly recommend West Liberty Animal Hospital.

Me and my Girls have been going to Dr. Dorn for a while, he is a Wonderful Vet and so are his Staff. They are all very nice to me and Gia and Tia my Girl's. They All are Great with them, I would highly recommend you going there. Thank you for everything.
