I've tried a couple vets in the area since moving here and I'm thrilled with Highland's. Everyone here is so nice and welcoming. You can tell they care. It's very easy to book with them. I took my kitty Leonard for a regular checkup and he had a bump on his side. The vet was so reassuring and calm. She gave me several options and was very upfront with the costs and not pushy at all. After an in house biopsy we settled on removal a couple months later and were able to add dental cleaning at the same time to save some money and allow for Leonard only needing to be put under once. He got his stitches out today and I was again impressed with the level of care. Leonard says thank you!

I've been bringing my dog, Ruby here for a few years now and it's always been a positive experience. You can tell everybody here genuinely cares a lot about animals and wants to do right by them. Doc is thorough with her exams and everybody who works there is very personable and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a veterinarian!

My cats and I have been going to Highland's Pet Medical Clinic for a long time. Even though I am with my 4th cat now the environment and feelings of compassion and understanding never go away. Highland's Pet Medical Clinic is knowledgeable, understanding, they listen to your concerns, and care for the over all well being of your furry family member. I have recommended this vet clinic in the past and I will definitely do it again if a friend or family member asks. Thank you for everything throughout the years Highland's Pet Medical Clinic!

Wanted to post a quick note on the awesome care I recently received for my elderly dog Rocco at Highlands Pet Clinic. Both the tech and the vet (Dr. Bird) were very thorough and empathetic in the care they provided Rocco (who’s a ripe 15 years old…). Dr. Bird was very good at explaining what was going on with Rocco (skin condition) and prescribed some meds for him and some homework for me. It was my first visit to the clinic based on a recommendation of an existing customer and I’m glad I went and will certainly return so Rocco can live another 15 years!

The staff that answers the phones here are so dry and rude. They put no effort into assisting with what would seem like an easy answer. I’m pretty sure the only words you have to know to work here are “I don’t know what to tell you” I am trying to get a record updated and they can’t seem to find any information like the dog was never there. I mean unless this paperwork is made up the last time he was there was only a couple few months ago. So I’m guessing they must get rid of patients records every 30 days. I’m glad I experienced their terrible customer service before I took my dog back there.

I’ve been coming to Highlands for over 3 years but that’s over this week. I have a 9 year old, chronically ill shar pei and she has been through a lot since I adopted her almost 3 years ago. She has dealt with hypothyroid, skin allergies, liver issues, and more. After Dr. Venghaus left I should have stopped coming here. They had a revolving door of ridiculous providers that ended with Dr. Bird who I did not have a good experience with. Every time I call, the tech on the phone is demeaning, I leave clinic without any answers, and I feel drained. This most recent time my dog had a terrible skin infection that was spreading quickly, and I was told everything was booked, they would not allow a drop off, and that I should try an urgent care. I didn’t even mind that, it’s Christmas in 1 week so I get it—but she was, again, demeaning and rude on the phone. The care is quite honestly not worth the price, you can get better treatment for less in Austin. I’m literally a nurse that works in a clinic and do not talk to my patients this way. So many things and issues I’ve had over the years and I’m done forgiving their mistakes. The few techs I do like have either left the practice or are not there when I come into clinic. I’m so done with this place, but I’m giving it 2 stars because the first 6-12 months I came here were amazing.
