We brought our boy, Buddy, to Nashville for a week-long board and train and couldn't be happier with the results. Both Kendall and Tate worked with our schedule to make it happen, and the results were incredible. Buddy is a "spirited" beagle and we wanted to be able to get him work on basic commands and leash walking. Tate was great to work with and kept us up to date on his progress with texts and short videos. Needless to say, the pup we brought back home was a 180 degree change from when we dropped him off. I get comments on how well behaved he is, literally, every time we go in public. A bonus modification was his car riding behavior, as you can see! Tate is fantastic, as is Kendall. You won't be disappointed with these guys and The Nashville Dog Wizard.
This place is fantastic. I was recommended by a friend who used them and was hoping I would get her same trainer seeing how her dog was after doing the program. I did! Tate is an absolute gem of a dog trainer. Cool, calm, so patient, and he also sent me videos and pictures during the two weeks he had Campbell. Below is a picture of him sitting in his “place” in my office and being so good! My puppy went around 5 months old and has come back so calm and obedient through zero swatting and zero yelling-exactly the lifestyle we want. 15/10 recommend Tate and The Dog Wizard in Nashville for all of your doggie needs!
We picked up our puppy Ellie from the animal shelter a week before the first covid lockdowns went into effect. We were not able to socialize her and when we were finally able to resume our lives we noticed she had a lot of anxieties and fears in the outside world and was afraid of people. She started showing traits of aggression so we contacted The Dog Wizard in Nashville. Originally we wanted to sign her up for the board and train program but when she first got there it was clear she was too scared of other people to stay. We decided the Freedom training was the next best option so we could get her around different scenarios while building her confidence and teaching her basic skills. Our family is amazed at the transformation we've seen in Ellie these few short weeks. It's taken a lot of dedication but the results are beyond worth it! Tate is incredible and took the time to get to know Ellie's specific issues and came up with a plan that worked for us with our lifestyle. I was in shock when Tate was able to adjust Ellie's collar on her last day of training because she was so scared of him initially. I highly recommend The Dog Wizard Nashville. We have peace of mind knowing Ellie is less stressed and can live happily as part of our family. We look forward to seeing her progress throughout her years.
I did a lot of research to find a board and train program that also did refresher/ graduate classes. I chose the dog wizard since they advertised having weekly graduate classes. My dogs went to training in May of 2023. They had maybe four graduate classes and they usually weren’t advertised at all. They might post on IG the night before but most of the time nothing. I could have really used the ongoing training and support so very disappointing - especially with the thousands of dollars I spent.
Tate was such a gift to our family and especially to our 8 month old golden retriever, Lemon! He was so kind and gentle with Lemon and you could see how much she adored Tate just by the way she paid such close attention to him. Tate really knows how to understand doggy language! He was able to have her learn new commands and skills we requested in our consult in two weeks. She no longer pulls on the leash, she was able to understand multiple commands and now I have the skills to help redirect unwanted behavior. He was very professional and sent us video updates everyday. He explained everything so throughly and helped me understand the why behind everything. Truly so grateful for Tate. Not only are we able to take better care of Lemon now , she seems so much happier too! I give a solid 10/10! I will definitely be using him in the future. :)
My German Shiloh shepherd mix, Juneau, has just returned from a two week board and train at the Dog Wizard. I really can’t say enough good things about Tate and endorse the other reviewers thoughts about his deep knowledge and clear communication style with both Juneau and more importantly me! Juneau is 118 lbs at 11 months and had gotten very full of himself prior to training. He’s returned home much calmer and has quickly made the transition from respecting Tate to respecting me. Juneau needed the e collar training in week two in order to more fully engage in higher level of work. He’s responding at the lowest level of stimulation when need be but for most part I’ve not even needed it. Recall, going to his ‘place’ and responding to OFF when engaging in troublesome is happening with praise and his kibble as a reward. My hope is for Juneau to become a therapy dog. I think with Tates help he’s on his way!
