Description "Each VCA hospital has health and safety protocols in place based on health care best practices as well as state and local guidance and regulations."
Had a great vet appt with Dr. Garrett and the Vet Tech Ray. It was a good experience was with my fur baby during the exam and vaccine. Price was right even though I had voucher for adopting my new baby I only paid for the vaccine that was needed. The facility was clean and Maci receptionist was so sweet. Thank you for great experience.
I came to VCA on short notice after my puppy Remi Meatballs licked and opened her incision. They were very quick to attend to us and take care of us! They trimmed her nails and gave little baby Remi a treat wouldn’t take my puppy or any of my other pets anywhere! The staff was great and welcoming 5/5 stars!
Personally the back is not as great as the front desk people, they don't let you go back with your pet, barely tell you what's going on with the exam, they don't throuroughly explain things, tons of miss communication, they are also not understanding with owners that are special needs. They don't allow you to feel like you're doing a good job with taking care of your pet, and they compare apples to apples. Not all pets are the same as other pets. It's hit or miss with them.
I adopted a kitten from Jacksonville Humane Society. I assume they may have a contract with them because they give you a voucher at Humane Society for a “free wellness exam” up to 150$. Overall, they were professional. My only dislike is when it was time for the Veternarian to do the exam, they take your pet to the back where you can’t see what’s going on. Well, how do the customers know you are actually doing an exam or what the customer is paying you to do? (WE DONT) The Veternarian could just look at the pet casually with out actually examining everything they should. They also recommend many vaccines and services that are NOT NECESSARY at that time. “Required” is different from “this can wait.” And the lady (not the Veterinarian) who explained the list of “needed services” that totaled to over 500$ makes everything seem like it is very important or something deadly or tragic will happen if you don’t get it now. Lol which is not the case. So make sure you are aware of what you want to do beforehand. 🙂
We previously went to the VCA in Deland and were very happy with the service. Yesterday, our first visit to Briarcliff, was so different. The tech came in, asked a few questions, then took my dog to the back to “draw blood”. The rest of the exam and treatment took place in the back, out of my view. I didn’t see anyone interact with my dog, examine her, or administer vaccines. We were due for all the shots so it was an expensive visit yet I saw none of it happen, nor was I allowed to see any interaction between the staff and my dog. I have never been in an office where they did things this way. I have no way to judge whether they were kind to my do or if the did everything I was charged for — especially the 100.00 charge for the “exam” by the vet. I certainly won’t be taking my other dogs to this vet.
Please never go here!!! they’ve charged me twice for medication for a dog I no longer have (that I’ve notified them about). They continuously try to push you to spend money on unnecessary treatments. Also It takes 2 hours per appointment
