Excellent shelter to start over. All the staff are beautiful people. God bless you all. The food is amazing and the beds are really good. Good restrooms. All is good.
I feel that this place is ran by the hand of God. Nowhere in Oklahoma City are you going to find a proactive team like the one that runs this place. I put together a homeless program myself for issuing loaded backpacks to those in need in Oklahoma City. I have saved many peoples lives; however, what I do shadows in comparison to what this place does. Anybody can walk in from no matter which rock bottom they’re coming from and be welcomed no questions asked. Come here look happy. Usually when I go into homeless centers, people don’t look that happy. Here, you can’t even tell theyre homeless unless they claim so. I think if you need help, this is the best place to start. Give it a shot. I was homeless 9 months in OKC. I wish back then I would’ve known what I know now about their existence. Trust these people! They are there to do good for you.
They made room for a teen when they we at capacity so she would have to sleep on the street.
The staff is really trying hard to help us out the bedbugs are gone,I think they are doing a better job than when I first got there 16 months ago there is a few staff members who works so hard for us that I had to say something about it. The staff members are changing for the better there are some that no matter what they are going to be lazy and won't do anything for anyone.
Very bad they have roaches the workers help themselves to the supplies but when asked if we could get something they say wait till next shift comes in because they do not want to do it you are less likely to be treated like a human here then by any of the other homeless shelter if I could I would give 0 starts if you are seeking help I do not recommend this place
I was on two housing list before me and my family got here... Getting told we have to leave because can't deal with mental illnesses especially those who are just recently back on meds the last 2 months and these people where made aware no verbal warning, no write up, no investigating complaints or haring both sides of stories ( like it states in policies and procedures) just told to leave.... The only good thing about this place was my family stayed together, showers everyday, got a part time job, and got to keep our animals. We have asked the assistant director and other staff on multiple occasions to speak to the director regarding issues on our behalf but that information was never given. In fact the assistant director himself told me that there is no one above him he was the director and end of line for night shelter. The staff well there is no beginning or ending line of communication between any of the staff and a few of them even agree with that. Basically don't mess with them about anything they won't mess with you!!! Rules and policies change daily without you knowing. If another families child puts visible marks and scratches on your child via bullying it is okay and nothing is done about it. I could write a lot more and no I a not innocent but nothing from day one entering the doors of the night shelter has been upheld... Lik getting counseling or helping us file for our disabilities (instead I got a job), birth certificates, etc. No case management at all... In fact the housing navigator is the case manager/ housing navigator for everyone. She is over worked and under paid!!!
