As a first time pet owner, I was very nervous about choosing the right vet for my kittens. The moment I met Lindsay and Dr. Thomas I felt relaxed and taken care of. They were kind, explained everything, and were great with the kittens.
We recently had to put down our beloved senior cat, Mia. Cumberland Animal Clinic went above and beyond with their care. Our family was incredibly touched by their kindness and thoughtfulness during an incredibly difficult time. Mia received excellent care here and we could tell how much they loved her.
Dr. Melissa Graye was awesome! She was everything I have been looking for in a DVM- Superbly skilled, very pleasant, and has my pup on a quick road to recovery. The reception personnel were very professional. Glad to have found my new Vet Clinic.
I have been long time customer of Cumberland animal clinic. My cats have seen Dr. Bailey for quite some time and I was hesitant about going this time knowing that she had left the practice. However, my cat and I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Graye. She has implemented some changes which allow for a more comfortable visit for the patients( cats and dogs ). She also worked really well with me in regards to my budget. She also took extra time to discuss with me a medication that one of my cats takes. I thought it was prescription and she explained that it was over the counter and even brought her phone into the room to show me where I could buy it online. I felt like that was well above and beyond what she needed to do. It was a great experience and we look forward to seeing her on our next visit with our other cat! P S. When she walked In the room, my cats tail shot straight up as a friendly gesture. Even he knew she's good people!
In less than a year's time, our family has lost two dogs (almost 15 and almost 14 yo) but CAC staff has made these unbearable losses, breathable. Between the front desk staff, the vet tech staff and Dr. Thomas and the compassion, patience and love they have offered through these impossible moments, I cannot dream of ever going anywhere else. They've also helped us successfully manage our other pup's severe anxiety with gentleness and support through the process. Today as I mourn, I keep coming back to the impact these literal angels had on us. I really don't think I could have gotten through it without their support. These folks are the true heros of our time.
EDIT 2024: I unfortunately have had to retract my previous review due to an immense amount of changes at this clinic. In the past couple years, my dog keeps seeing different vets, and the current staff is almost completely different than it was even a year ago. The final straw was their handling of my dog's last issue, a UTI that he has had in the past. He was put on an antibiotic that didn't work for him before, with their records showing that, and they were very casual about re-checking him, saying I can just bring the urine in without an appointment. The UTI got worse, he got delirious and ended up peeing inside the clinic several times when I got him back in. They got him on a better antibiotic, but then did not call me with the second round of test results, and when I called asking for an update (after he had finished the second round of antibiotics) it took them several days to call back. He sees an internist vet regularly for more advanced issues, and I will be finding a new vet for vaccines and as needed vet visits. It saddens me greatly but my dog is too old for me to drive out of my way for substandard care. I genuinely hope they are able to get back on a good footing, as they used to be such a light for pet parents in the Smyrna area. 2020: The vets at Cumberland Animal clinic have been amazing with my two dogs! They have been the sole reason why we caught kidney disease very early and got it under control with treatment, and then they helped me catch the early stages of pancreatitis and they treated that as well. They literally have given me more years with my “pawrtner” in crime and I can not be more grateful. If you have pets, take them here for both regular check ups and for any health concerns, they are awesome! ❤️🐾
