We were absolutely thrilled with the adoption process for our new family member. We were coming back from Spring Break in Destin and decided to stop in because we had promised our son his birthday present after Spring Break (a new dog) The facility was immaculate and the staff was attentive and kind. We filled out the paperwork for O'Malley on Thursday and received a call on Friday saying we had been approved. We took the trip back to EAHS from Atlanta on Saturday morning and it was a quick in and out with our new pup. They even provided a leash, blanket, collar, harness, food, and a toy. We would definitely recommend EAHS.

We adopted 2 littermate pups and the process was easy. They keep the kennels and facility very clean. There are areas outside to play with the dogs and you can bring dogs you already have to visit before you adopt. I love the community page for people who have adopted, you get to share your story, share updates, and even keep in touch with littermates!

My family recently adopted Sweetie (previously named Lillian) and had a wonderful experience. They truly want what is best for the dogs and their potential family. Their thorough application process is proof of this. Anyone who is serious about adopting and providing a safe and loving home will be able to appreciate the process as well. After a successful introduction period with our senior dog and toddler we were able to foster Sweetie and make sure she was a good fit for our family and that we could give her a great home. They provided us with food, a collar, harness, leash, toys, and a blanket. They also called us after the adoption period to check in and make sure things were still going well. The staff at this humane society go above and beyond for the animals and do an excellent job maintaining the facility.

I recently adopted the sweetest girl from EAHS. They take adoption seriously and ensure the pet is going to the right home. I love that they allow “trial foster runs” (unlike many rescues in the area) for a few days. They were very informative and so great to work with! Also a great selection of beautiful pups and dogs.

I adopted a dog from here, and I couldn't be happier! They sent her home with some of the food she likes to help her transition, plus a toy, leash, collar, harness, and blanket. I've adopted animals from other facilities, but never seen them treated with such care. They seem to genuinely care about the welfare of every animal. They keep the animals in indoor outdoor runs, not the small cages like a lot of other places. They work hard to place dogs in a home that will be a good fit for the dog and the new owner. I would recommend them to anyone! Please consider adopting a dog from them.

The staff are wonderful. We were able to take home our newest family member chiquito. She is a 3-month-old Chihuahua terrier mix. The granddaughters are so happy. I love to see them smile 😁. Thank you to everyone at East Alabama Humane.
