We just adopted the best dog ever! We now own the sweetest, most loving Black Lab. His new name is Maverick. The folks at Newton Co. Animal Shelter were amazing. All super friendly, especially Amanda. Thank you all for Maverick! And your facility is superb. Cleanest animal shelter I have ever seen!

Adopted our dog Titan here!!! (renamed King Toa now lol!) we love him so much! The adoption process was quick and the staff were so so kind!!!! I can tell they work so hard and the shelter was clean!!! The first picture is him before we adopted him!! Thank you Newton County for our angel dog!!!

Aropted a cat here recently - friendly staff, clean living conditions for the animals. They are spayed/neutered, given preventative care, and vaccinated before adopted out.

A few weeks ago a short, while male visited my neighbor to satisfy an alleged shelter complaint. While checking the mail I overheard this guy comparing and referring to her being out into a cage as if she was an animal. He was very unfriendly and a bit aggressive. I hope my neighbor complained about him. He definitely came off as racist.

I think people need to understand that this is a government run animal shelter, and they have limited supplies, staff as well rooms for all the animals that come in. They do try to outsource to other shelters but if they cannot make room then, sadly yes animals have to be put down. We took in this pretty pittie that was on the risk list(to be put down) and she is amazing !!! Sadly people will go on a wait list for the puppies or more desirable dogs(one dog has FOUR PEOPLE) and not even give the ones that have been there the longest a chance. You have to understand that these people are so kind and loving and this their job is HARD.

I need help we're a drop off spot for dogs and now cats. I have a Momma Daddy & 6 kittens. I'm on oxygen & have 2 rescue dogs & a cat from before I got sick. There starving & loaded with fleas. I'm hoping the lady I just spoke to is getting back with me. Somebody was gonna take 1 kitten I got all his fleas with a bath & has been inside for 2 days. I need help just like other people. If I was healthy I do my best to care for them & find homes but I don't drive can't even sit at Walmart see is somebody might want 1. The worst is somebody will take them away without me knowing where there going
