Description Appalachian Pug Rescue rescues pugs in need, provides medical care, and places them in loving, forever homes. If no home can be found, then we provide them with a comfortable and loving place where they can live out their best lives. We are based in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania and serve Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, and New York.

This organization is amazing. We just rescued our pug Brutus Gabriel (now Oliver) almost exactly one month ago. The process was thorough and efficient. It is obvious that Kelly loves every pug that enters the rescue and does her best to make sure they are placed into good homes. I will be using this rescue in the future when we are ready to add another pug permanently or as a foster into our family. In the meantime we will be loyal donors to this wonderful non profit rescue!

Adopted my sweet little girl pug from Appalachian Pug Rescue. Very thorough interview/ referral process and transparent about her behavior and known medical issues. Foster parents were wonderful people and the adoption process was explained clearly. I was even provided some toys, treats, blanket and snacks with adoption which was awesome. The toy received when adopted is still her " special" bedtime toy. So happy I stumbled upon this organization on Facebook. Thanks Kelly!!

We would recommend APR to anyone who is looking to give a special pug a home! DeeDee (Princess Diana) has fit into our family so incredibly well. It’s strange to think what it was like without her! She has a HUGE personality. She loves to snuggle every chance she gets. Seeing her and our other pug Cleo play and keep each other company is exactly what we were looking for. They go on walks every day and they play with their endless toys! Pug companionship is a real thing! The process was extremely thorough. Kelly kept communication always flowing, and she really made made sure that we were comfortable with our decision. She never made us feel like she was pushing DeeDee on us. But we fell in love instantly! She really does her homework, and when it comes to rescuing a dog, it is important that the right dog goes to the right family. And APR got this one right! You can tell this organization loves their pugs!!! Thank you so much to APR for allowing us to adopt DeeDee! We would do it 1000x’s over again. She has her forever home!!

We recently adopted from APR and couldn't have asked for a better experience. They are thorough, but their priority is making sure they are sending the dog to a stable forever home - and that is so important with any dog - especially rescues. If you're looking to rescue - this is the place to do it, they are an absolute delight.

Working with Appalachian Pug Rescue was such a joyful experience and resulted in us bringing our most special boy, Benjamin home!
