Mission for Paws is an amazing organization. It is very clear they care deeply about the animals they take in, and are very thorough to make sure the cat’s forever home is safe and loving. My family had the pleasure of working with Ms. Jolene, a foster mom who was caring for Marshmallow. It has now been 2 weeks since we adopted Marshmallow (Suki), and she’s acclimating to our house nicely. We are so happy that we found Mission for Paws.
I adopted my cat Griffith (white cat here) from the ladies here and they were super kind! They treated all the cats super well and all of them were really healthy. They kept giving me constant updates after he got neutered to know when he was ready for pickup and I send them monthly updates and they always respond happy to hear how he's doing. I was looking for a cat to get along with another cat and the assured me Griffith/Roy would get along with any cat and he sure has! They're cuddle buddies now.
Two years ago I saw a picture of a kitten on petfinder and I immediately fell in love. Kellie later told me his story, that he was an extreme medical rescue and that she nursed him back to health from the brink of death. Now, he’s the most well adjusted cat ever. He’s loving and friendly. He’s my soul-cat. I’m in awe of the work that this rescue does. They really are out here changing lives - both cats and their owners! Highly highly recommend this rescue!
This cat rescue is definitely faint of heart. Not only that but the vet volunteer Rachel and the apparent rescue coordinator Kellie were a complete reminder of why I foster and rehome stray cats independently and by my own accord, out of my own pocket.🏠🐈🐈⬛🙀 I contacted them for help getting a cat I had been fostering adopted, as it was taking longer than usual on my own. Therefore I believed contacting a cat rescue was a good idea to give the cat more adoption opportunities.🫡 Kellie and I had an exchange of emails and text messages. She said I'd have to take the cat to the vet volunteer so she could be tested for FIV/FeLv before she could attend adoption events and that I'd also have to take her to a photo shoot so she could be added to the petfinder website blah blah blah. 🗣️🗣️ All I had asked was if she could somehow be added to their pet listings and I could be contacted about her but whatever okay. Understood. So I agreed, you know. I let them choose the best date and time for them. Today I was about to arrive at the vet volunteer's place for the scheduled appointment and I receive a message from Kellie telling me that they will no longer help Minina(the cat). 🛻 The reason being that while I was on the way Minina had gotten out of her soft travel carrier and I had to pull over to put her back in it. 👜 When this happened I messaged the vet volunteer Rachel to let her know why I had to stop and to update her on my new ETA. Rachel then proceeds to ask me if Minina is feisty and I responded that she does scratch and bite. Afterwards a few minutes later is when Kellie reached out to tell me that I was a liar and they would no longer help Minina because she was too wild and feral. I must say, those were reckless and fear based conclusions from someone who has never even met or handled the cat itself. 🤔🤫 Minina is not feral she just has the capability of scratching or biting when she no longer wants to be pet and she is not a lap cat. This is very normal cat behavior. No one adopts a cat and expects to never be scratched or bit. That is simply delusional. There are a few cats that can be that docile but most cats even get feisty and bite and scratch when they're playing. 😼🧶🎏 Anyone who has dealt with lots of cats knows that they each have their own personality and ways of being. Not all cats are super sweet, loving, cuddly, lap cats. Some are more independent and only like to show affection on their terms and chosen times. These are the type of cats that are good for an adult who does not want to have a cat all over them all the time! Different cats for different folks. 🙌🏼 Another thing I'd like to mention for the record is that I told Kellie from the very first email that I sent her that I would not recommend Minina to a home with small children. I said this as a heads up and to make it clear that she was a cat that should only be adopted out to a home of adult(s). Different cats have different needs and require different home dynamics that would best fit them. That is a no brainer. 🧠🧐 After all of this was said and done I told the vet volunteer Rachel that I found it hard to believe she was an actual vet since any veterinarian would have more depth and understanding about normal cat behavior. 🙅🏻♀️ As for Kellie I called her and she had quite a bit to say to me as far as excuses go and even went as far as lying and saying I had never told her anything about scratching or biting. I let her speak and say everything she had to say. When it was my turn to speak she kept cutting me off trying to interrupt so I told her she was a dishonorable person with bad character. 👎 As far as my personal experience with Mission For Paws I would have to summarize it as extremely unprofessional, lack of follow through, lack of backbone, delusional, unrealistic and ignorant.❌ Attached to this review will be the screenshot of the first email I sent Kellie. I clearly mention what she said I did not.📧 Kellie you are the liar, not me. Check yourself before you project your dishonest errors onto others.
Very thorough adoption process! Cats we adopted were very well taken care of and very acclimated to humans. Their staff does really well with keeping their adoption display neat and clean didn’t show up to see a mess of animals in crates so that was nice to see. You really get your bang for your buck as far as adoption fee goes and the most kind group of people! Here’s a photo of my adorable twin boys Lynx & Ollie 💙
Mission for Paws truly cares for animals. There is a thorough questionnaire and check that one has potential to adopt. I‘ve adopted twice through Alyssa G, who is friendly, thorough, quick to communicate, and truly cares about the animals doing well in the right home. My boys were adopted as a set 2 years ago, and I’ve recently added a little girl to our family. Very happy I found Mission for Paws.
