Amazing people!! Amazing place! If it wasn't for the people who run dawson humane society, I wouldn't have this handsome guy in my life. Found him on the side of the road very malnourished, infested with fleas and worms. The dawson humane society brought this little guy back to life and he is now living the life he deserves. Thank you dawson humane society we are forever in your debt.

I don’t want to assume the worst, but this situation doesn’t sit well. A friend went through the entire process of adopting a puppy, and briefly thought she wouldn’t be able to move forward. However everything worked out and she went to the office to file the paperwork and paid the necessary fees, Only to be told a worker was having a panic attack over the adoption and was offered other puppies. She declined due to the puppy getting along well with her other pets. Then the manager Jason made a thinly veiled accusation of abuse and decided to void the transaction which is currently pending. Why bring a puppy to an adoption event then reject the adoption?

Great experience! I found our sweet pup by looking online. I went to visit her in person, and the staff was very informative, helpful and kind. When we took her home, several staff members came to say goodbye; it was very sweet to see how much they all cared. They called to check up on her after the adoption. She is a wonderful dog! Healthy and sweet 🥰.

Do not trust these people! Spoke with them about a dog, said I was coming from 25 miles away to pick up the dog. They literally adopted the dog out to someone else as I was in route and said it was because someone else was right there to adopt and they didn't want to wait for me to get there. I was literally halfway there! Bunch of morons!

On our way to Home Depot a few weeks ago, we noticed PetSmart had the puppies outside so we stopped to look. I’m glad we did otherwise we wouldn’t have found Hennessy. She’s a healthy, silly and curious puppy and we’re happy to have her. Thanks guys!

I called Dawson County Humane society 2 weeks ago, when a paradactyl ( multiple toed) cat just casually came out of our rural woods, and decided he would come live on my porch. I have 3 rescues, adding another was non negotiable , because my guy wanted no part of it! Needless to say, I contacted these fine folks at this shelter to see if I could foster him until he could be placed w/ a loving home. They contacted me back ( quickly) to assist me, very friendly and helpful, but on that day we decided to keep him ourselves...but had I not, I would have tried their services ❤️
