Beware! I called ahead of time made them aware that this is a chronic condition for my and that I had the records from our vet with the regular treatment that my dog gets every time he gets a flare up ( while making the appointment I could clearly hear someone yelling and arguing, I asked what was happening and the lady told me”oh it’s just a misunderstanding”)I should have known better by then. When my mother brought my dog to this Dr. Schulman she wanted to do X, Y and Z testings, I declined as I reminded her that my dog is a senior dog, “ I need him to feel better and to get the treatment that usually works for him” she told me “ I’m not a pharmacist and you can’t tell me what to prescribe him” I emailed her my dogs records so she could see the dosages and the medications that he usually gets when he has flares up in paper. She refused to treat him unless I did a series of testing. She did not know that I’m a nurse practitioner, and that I can recognize symptoms specially if it’s my dog of 14 years old! She screamed at me “ then why don’t you just take him to his regular vet!!” This issue isn’t about money, but the principle and lack of professionalism. My dog was sick with diarrhea ( chronic colitis) has dealt with it for years usually once a year flare up. And she was telling me that he could have a uti, she needed to check his urine, and blood in order to give him medicine. Last I check we even give babies and children and adults medications based on WEIGHT! He’s 14 years old! All I need him to be is comfortable, I told her I know my dog better than anyone specially her who met him 5 mins ago. It’s so sad to see that these vets only see $$$$$ when they see pets. Keep your pets away from this money hungry human!
My mom and I absolutely love this place. Our dog Riley has been getting treatment here and the service is phenomenal. He was very sick at one point and is now back to himself. Thank you all for everything 😊
Very good vet. They are very caring and understanding. The place is also very clean and they are very emphatic to animals. They also took us in as a walk in without an appointment. Their prices are also very reasonable.
Dr. Alexis and Juan Carlos along with the staff are super professionals and extremely kind people, thank you for all the good care they took for our Candy and Spring, we love you guys
We just moved to Miramar and I decided to book with this clinic because the website advertised vaccines only apt. My dog Stella sees a specialist in Jacksonville, Florida where I am originally from for her IBD and gets routine testing done with a specialist to keep an eye on her condition. Because of this, and because she did a fecal test, ultrasound, bloodwork, urinalysis, etc., earlier this year, Stella really only needed updated shots so I could board her for two days. When I went to book online, the clinic had the option to book for vaccines only but the time I needed wasn't available so I called the office. When the receptionist answered, I asked to book my dog Stella for VACCINES ONLY and the receptionist confirmed there was an appointment available for VACCINES ONLY so I set the appointment. My fiancé works from home so he was able to run Stella to what we thought would be a quick in and out visit, however that was not the case AT ALL. When he got there at 2:15 for a 2:30 appt, he filled out all the paperwork, checked off "VACCINES", and waited to be seen. They took an hour to take him in and there was one other person there. At 3:30 when Stella was finally in the exam room, after they had supposedly read and processed all her paperwork, especially the form where he marked vaccines ONLY, the vet herself told my fiancé they would not administer vaccines without a wellness exam. He told them multiple times he isn't usually the one who takes Stella to the vet, but that she only needed vaccines because she had done extensive testing earlier this year. However, the vet kept insisting. Not knowing what to do, and not able to get ahold of me because I was at work, and because we were leaving for a vacation the next day, he agreed to the wellness exam. HOWEVER, in addition to the wellness exam, the vet administered so many diagnostic tests WITHOUT our authorization including a fecal test, IDEXX VetLab Station SNAP 4Dx Plus, deworming and bloodwork. My fiancé kept asking so this is all necessary to get vaccines? and the vet kept saying yes. I have had this dog for 4 years, have seen a few different vets for her given that I move around a lot for work and her condition, and have NEVER been required to get these tests done prior to getting vaccines. what I am MOST upset about is that veterinarian at this clinic saw that my fiancé was not familiar with the process, took advantage of it, and MISREPRESENTED that these diagnostic tests are part of the wellness exam. in fact, he told me that the doctor did the IDEXX lab AFTER the shots were administered. Clearly, these tests - especially the IDEXX Test - are completely diagnostic and not preventative even in the slightest and therefore are not part of any wellness exam at all. I have NEVER in my 4 years of having this dog had an IDEXX VetLab done on her. Even if they want to say that my fiancé agreed to the wellness exam, that was only a $65 charge. the $65 wellness exam + the vaccines I needed would cost me no more than $200. But, no, after all was said and done, we spent $440 on a yearly visit. I tried to call Flamingo Road Animal Hospital on 2 different occasions to speak with a manager about this. The first time, I called the same day on June 30th around 5pm. When the receptionist Natalia answered, she told me the manager would call me back. The manager did not call me back. I called again today, 7/5/2022 and Natalia answered again. this time I explained why I needed to speak with a manager and Natalia told me the manager was at the hialeah location and gave me a separate number. I called that number twice and no one picked up. I never leave reviews but the level of service at this clinic is disappointing and we feel taken advantage of. It is unfortunate it had to get to this point but we will be disputing all the unauthorized charges with our credit card. Hopefully this review will save someone $500.
I really like this place! The Dr. Is very knowledgeable and extremely kind with their patients. I took my rabbit as an emergency and everything was fast and detail oriented. You could see that she cares about well being of the pets.
