Absolutely excellent county workers! Miranda, animal control officer, went above and beyond to help a poor, distressed and suffering kitty that was dropped off in my elderly mother's yard. She helped us trap it and took it to the vet where we learned the poor sick kitty is elderly. She worked with a local vet to treat her and get her into a cat sanctuary where she will live out her days happy and healthy rather than languishing in the shelter where most won't want to adopt an elderly cat. I want to add that she was full of information about the functioning of animal control and reassured us that the old problems that were had there years ago are gone and that they never euthanize unless the animal is so ill, injured or dangerous that it can't be saved. They care for all the animals and bend over backwards to get them adopted. They really need donations though because the shelter is too small and they need to expand. If you love animals be sure to adopt there or donate so that the animals of Tuscola county have access to the care and shelter that Miranda and the other officer there want to give to the most vulnerable in our county! Thanks Miranda for soothing my fears through education about leaving kitty in the shelter's hands!

The wonderful folks at Tuscola County Animal Control really go above and beyond when helping and educating the public. The officers are nothing but amazing and the kennel attendants are so hard working. I have called their office multiple times and even though they sometimes don't answer their phones right away, there was an answering machine that instructed to leave a voice mail for animal complains or if an emergency, call 911. I received a call back from one of the staff members and they kindly followed up and answered my questions and addressed my concerns. I am not quite sure what all these bad reviews are about but I don't believe they are leaving voicemails.

I commend the Animal Control officers as well as the kennel attendants and the volunteers that go above and beyond the call of duty day in and day out! I have seen them out in the middle of the night to keep animals and people safe. The few bad reviews I have seen on here are self centered individuals with an agenda. I ask them to reach out and do your part to make this a better community for all our children.

Reply to Linda Ryma: Tim Spencer is my HUSBAND. I hope you realize that there are other individuals who have names that begin with "S" besides myself. I have never left a review under the name "S T;" I will gladly, PUBLICLY state my name before criticizing a taxpayer funded entity that is endangering the public and FAILING to do its job. The fact that you only left a review in an attempt to vilify me demonstrates that you were recruited to leave a positive review in response to genuine negative feedback. I am adding photos to dissolve the conspiracy theory that every single negative review has somehow been made by me. I will be documenting these intimidation tactics and showing them to the County Commissioners. Taxpayers have a right to publicly state their grievances regarding public entities--and they shouldn't be harassed by people affiliated with those entities. Katrina McCombs left two reviews, identifying herself by her name. According to you, people with the same last name count as the same person, so should I accuse Robert McCombs of being Katrina's third review? UPDATE: I'm revising my year-old review to address the very-fake review left by "HP": "The few bad reviews I have seen on here are self centered individuals with an agenda. I ask them to reach out and do your part to make this a better community for all our children." I'll tell you what our "agenda" is: We want to be able to take a walk without getting mauled. We ARE doing our part to make this a better community for all our children--right now they are getting terrorized by loose dogs that run rampant while you refuse to answer your phones. I suspect HP is affiliated with animal control--as is Katrina McCombs, who works as Kennel Attendant and left two separate five-star reviews. Initial Review: They do not answer their phones, they do not return calls, they do not respond to emails. They neglected to address starving kittens for a WEEK. I spoke to a woman who lived nearby the homeless, starving kittens; she told me she had called them several times for weeks. They prioritize re-homing DANGEROUS dogs that they openly acknowledge shouldn't be around children, cats, or other dogs. This is a pet shop--not an "Animal Control" unit. And unlike other pet shops, the dogs you'll find have a violent history. They will deceptively refer to any dangerous breed as a "lab mix." One day a child is going to get mauled to death because of their laziness and dishonesty.

Wow! I cannot say enough good things about this shelter and the staff of animal control. Sincerely, Katrina McCombs, a kennel attendant at TCAC (and actually not HP😉)

These 2 pitbulls been terrorizing us for a long time. Cornering us in our yard numerous times and people even threatening them on myself and service dog.
